Featuring Curtis E. James

Originally from Albany, GA, Curtis James now works and resides in New York City. He is a graduate of Pratt Institute with a BFA and MFA in Fine Art. Among his crowning achievements are a $50,000 Scholarship from Pratt Institute, a Silver Plate Award from the U.S. House of Representatives, a Gold Medal Award from the Georgia State Board of Education, and the Albany Georgia Museum of Art Purchase Award (the youngest in the history of the museum to receive this award).

His work is primarily in charcoals and pastels to reflect the warm and sensitive side of family. Utilizing his own family as a source of inspiration, his art works cover human experience from childbirth to adulthood.
